I don't know if I qualify, but for some reason our power was unaffected. We were lucky. I guess we get our power from Montreal or something.
How is everyone else?

Y'all okay over there?!?

I'm guessing (hoping?) by the lack of activity yesterday that some people got hit hard.
I was actually traveling when it happened. I was listening to a radio station in Hartford (where they didn't lose power). The power kept going out for a couple of seconds, then coming back on. So I heard the same Staid song 5 times in a row. The DJs were like, "It's not us! The power keeps going out!" (the song would restart every time the power came back on).
We were right on the line here in CT. as the Walmart a mile away and everything south of there to NYC had no power but we were okay.
And I've heard reports that the back up generater at a mall near hear melted.
Well, we got a call from Ein's dad last night. He was at home in London, Ontario, sitting around in the dark and enjoying the fact that he didn't have to go to work. He played flashlight tag with Ein's step brothers all night and built little tent cities and stargazed from his backyard.
Here's funny account of the power out in New York:

They say Chicago and Illinois weren't affected, yet there was certainly power loss in my apartment last night when I got home and my alarm clock was flashing...then we didn't have internet for a while either which was weird...
OK, I wanna put this on my resume. This is the SECOND time I've been in a major national disaster area sort of power outage, and the hotel that I worked at was the only one in the area that didn't lose power. I was almost glad to go to work, at least the airconditioning was working. Of course, I spent the whole night on the phone, "Yes, we have power, no, we don't have any rooms available." Our restaurant made a killing, though, being one of the few places that were actually open.
Fortunately, Lansing managed to get their power back on by midnight or so (LOVE the Board of Power and Light). I understand Detroit is still a pit.
So, I'm fine, Dan's fine. Gotta admit, I'm worried about Ski and our New York friends...
eris, do we blame that on your chaos field too?
Everyone relax, I'm here
